Every other comparison site treats cats as an afterthought — buried under dogs, rabbits and hamsters. We don't. We rank every policy by the things that actually matter to cat owners: vet fee limits for chronic conditions like hyperthyroidism, dental illness cover, indoor-cat discounts, and whether pre-existing conditions are ever covered.
We compare 28 UK pet insurers and update our data every month. No insurer pays to appear higher in our rankings. The order you see is the order our algorithm calculates — full stop.

How we rank insurers
Our scoring algorithm weighs four factors that independent vets and pet insurance experts agree matter most. No insurer can pay to boost their score.
Vet fee limit
Maximum the insurer will pay per year. Higher is better. Weight: 40%
Cover type
Lifetime cover scores higher than time-limited or accident-only. Weight: 15%
Customer rating
Aggregated from Trustpilot, Feefo and Which? reviews. Weight: 25%
Monthly price
For a healthy 3-year-old domestic shorthair. Lower is better. Weight: 20%
How we make money
Cat Cover Compare is free to use. When you click through to an insurer and buy a policy, we may earn a commission from that insurer. This is called affiliate marketing.
It never changes what you pay. The quote you see on our site is the same price you'd get going direct. And it never changes our rankings — our algorithm has no idea which insurers we have affiliate deals with.
